Babira, the Sumatran tiger, arrived from Amneville Zoological Park in France to our Park on Monday, July 11.
Tha Sumatran tiger is considered critically endangered due to high rates of habitat loss and fragmentation, human-tiger conflict , illegal trade in tiger parts sold in high prices in the black market. Their population is estimated at less than 400 in the wild.
Did you know that:
- It is an excellent swimmer and climber with powerful muscular builds and large claws.
- They live in tropical rainforests usually solitary.
- Each tiger has its own unique stripe pattern.
