Social structure: solitary males, maternal families of 20 or up to 100 individuals

Threats: There are no major threats to this species

Did you know that:

  1. They have tusks on their bottom lips. The male's are larger than the female’s (up to 6cm) and curve upwards out of their mouth. Males have also tusks on their top lips to sharpen the bottom one.
