International Red Panda Day
Red pandas are like giant pandas in that they eat bamboo and are found in Asia’s mountainous forests. But even though they share a name, the two species are not closely related. Many years ago it was thought that they were in the racoon family, but DNA analysis now show that they are in the bear family! Whatever their family, Red Pandas are endangered and need our help. Meet them at our Park on this special day.

World Rhino Day
"My horn belongs on my head!" The characteristic horn on the nose of these shy giants is the main reason they are endangered in the wild. Their horns are in large demand, especially in SE Asia where it is mistakenly believed that rhino horn powder can cure cancer. Thus people pay huge sums of money to the poachers. Of course, the truth is that rhino horn is made of keratin, the same material that our hair and nails are composed of. So please shout out "Their horn belongs on their head!" and visit us to meet them up close and learn through Arts and Crafts, Storytelling "Ταξίδι στην Αφρικανική Σαβάνα" and Rhino Feedings.
