Α fresh ‘green’ breath for the Attica Zoological Park

Attica Zoological Park covers an area of 200,000 square meters. When our founder started its creation 12 years ago, there was nothing on this land except vines, very few olive trees and 3 fig trees, since it consisted of mainly agricultural land, typical of the region of Spata. Since then we have planted over 10.000 shrubs and trees. As Attica Park grows into a bio-diverse oasis, we continue to enrich the surrounding environment by planting resilient endemic vegetation.  Plants are the lungs of our planet, providing us with oxygen and clean air, shade and nutrition for all living beings.  On our grounds, we now have plenty of olive and fig trees, prickly pears, herbs like rosemary and lavender, and many more. At substantial cost, during these hard times, we are presently planting about 500 more trees such as plane trees, carob and bay laurel, all native to the Mediterranean, as well as plane and white mulberry that are typically found in Greece. And that is in additional to all tropical plants like banana trees, pine trees, which we are continuously planting inside exhibits of tropical birds and other exotic species.  So come to Attica Zoo to enjoy the natural flora of the Mediterranean, in combination with an exciting animal journey around the planet with our 2,000 animals from over 380 species!
