Welcome!

A lovely Sitatunga was born yesterday at Attica Zoological Park, bringing joy to everyone, while helping the Park's family grow bigger!

Sitatunga is found in Central to South West Africa, is herbivorous, lives mostly in wetlands, but eating takes place in both dry sand and swamps. Sitatungas live in semi-social groups of males or females, until adulthood when they become mostly solitary animals.

Sitatungas give birth once a year to one calf, after a gestation period of 8 months.

The species is not threatened, but it is very vulnerable to hunting for their meat and hide.
